SAPseXL had annouced its next tool “SAP Role Documentation Tool V1.0”. It automates the role documentation process by capturing the information from the SAP system.
The below information is automatically generated:
- Composite Role
- Description of composite role
- Detailed Description of the changes
- Single roles in the composite Role
- Individual Long Descriptions
- Transactions in the role
SAPSecurityExpert.com views:
- The tool can be used only for the composite roles at the moment.
- The documentation require lot of manual corrections. No detailed tabular forms
- Alignments/margins needs to be adjusted
- Default font is selected automatically.
SAPSecurityexpert.com certifies that the Macros used in the tool only collect the required role information and doesn’t store any user/system information such as usernames, password etc., However, we still encourage to use the tool at your own discretion (Read our disclaimer page for complete information).

SAP Role Documentation Tool,
Hi,
I managed to extract the data into Word. However I still miss some data:
1. I do not see detailed role changes (only the description tab text is shown)
2. I do not see transactions per role listed anywhere?
I this because I am doing something wrong? I can’t imaging because it connects and grabs the data without any error. The word document looks good as well.
I think the info that you are capturing in this way can be used for even greater purposes. I would love to share some ideas. Are you on Skype or Gtalk?
Thanks !
Regards,
Rob
Hi Rob,
Thanks for your comments/suggestions. The developer will contact you to discuss further.
Hello Rob,
Thanks for your feedback. You are not doing anything wrong. It looks we over looked in out manual/review. In this version the tool does not collect any TCode information from the role. We do have plans to include the TCode in coming version. Please share your ideas we can include as much as possible to make it comprehensive. Please add me in.
Regards
Arul
