Deleting background jobs in SAP GRC RAR 5.3

You can use the Delete button to delete the background jobs from either Informer tab, Background Jobs, Search screen or from the Configuration tab (following the same options). However, the delete button is not available by default before SP14 and was corrected/made available from GRC RAR SP14.

If you are on a previous SP, you need to update the UME actions by following the steps below:

1. Login to UME
2. Search for VIRSA_CC* roles

4. Click Modify
5. Click Assigned Actions

6. Enter”DeleteBGJob” in the Get action text box and click GO.
7. Select the UME Action
8. Click Add.

9. Click Save.

This will add the delete button as below:

For further information, refer SAP Note 1543380 – Background Jobs deletion authorizations in RAR after SP14.

    Hi Raghu,
The Delete button is showing by default in our 5.3_13.2 environment, but it is grayed out when I try to delete a job that is still running.
Is there a way to stop a job that is running?

      Hi Jim,

Please check if you have DeleteBG action added (or a role) in UME for your user ID. Refer Note 1543380 – Background Jobs deletion authorizations in RAR. If the issue still persists, you may try stopping the job from the Daemon screen (your Basis team might have authorization to this).

BTW, what job is it? and what does the log says?
